Is there any way to give less than 1 star?!
I called ahead of time before purchasing a Groupon and spoke to Joey. Figured I would give them the benefit of the doubt and if I called ahead of time and asked for the "fine print" I would avoid any issues. Well, I didn’t realize that they are NOT accredited with the BBB and that they companies they hire aren’t either! THEY BOOKED MY JOB WITH METRO VAN LINES
First thing the movers did when they arrived was park the truck out in the middle of the street instead of pulling up to my garage even though the first items I wanted moved were the ones in my garage.
Then, they hand us a form that they required us to sign that stated that they were not insured and if they hurt themselves in any way they would sue me!
After that they walked through the house to "look" at what we had and started picking what they would move and wouldn’t move. We told them that that’s not the way it worked - that if were paying to have certain items moved like the sofas and beds because we couldn’t do it ourselves that they couldn’t hand pick what they wanted to move. Well, the movers did not take that lightly and got in my brother's face and said that they were professionals and they decided what would be moved. Now, keep in mind that ALL of their walking around and inspecting was being deducted from my time. They said that if they wanted they could not honor the Groupon and charge my CC that I used for paying for the additional mover $145/hr!
My brother kept telling them that they were wasting time and that they should just go back down to the garage and start putting in the truck all the boxes and furniture we had ready for them. Well the movers got so aggravated that we actually had to call the police because we feared they were going to hit my brother.
After a half and hour they decided to leave at which point i get a call from Joey at Moving APT giving me an attitude and telling me that all jobs usually required more time than what was allotted with the Groupon and defending the movers.
I was shocked to say the least that he didn’t even apologize and kept stating that he was taking time out to call me from his personal time at Art Basel with his daughter!!
