I used this company last year to do a move and and I still trying to figure out a way to get compensated for my DESTROYED belongings. They packed all of my belongings but I am not sure if they didn't know what they were doing or if it was packed intentionally so they could be detroyed. Cast iron skillets in with glass dishes, glass plated and bowls packed upside down and off set so any amount of weight on the box crushed the glass to pieces. The packing team lead asked for a 15% gratuity and I declined due to the bill being $400 more than the estimate. I explained I couldn't afford to tip since the price was more and they were paid by the hour. Which is what lead me to believe that the damage could have been intentional.
The delivery guys were nice and actually did tell me not to sign for the belongings due to the condition of my belongings. I have sought legal counsel, contacted the BBB and will be filing a complaint with the Maryland Consumer Advocate.
I contacted their main office immediately and asked for the owner/CEO's contact information and was told they could not release that information. A reputable company would have that information for the consumer availiable. I was also told that I could not longer speak to the lady I been working with in the office (SUE). I was only allowed to talk to Jenny or Jessie and to be honest they sounded like the same lady. I truly agree with one of the other posters that the positive reviews on this company were posted by one of the employees.
Also I blame myself for not reading the fine print, but the reason my claim hasn't gone smoothly is they use arbitration....if you do your research the consumer is screwed. I didn't and I regret it. I am determined to try and protect other people from using this company and hopefully they will be put out of business. I was in a hurry and needed to move quickly and didn't do research.....learn from my mistake...DO NOT USE METRO VAN LINES !!!!!!
