Though they were late arriving, which meant that, alternate side parking in NYC being what it is, we were afraid they wouldn't be able to park right in front of our apartment building once cars were able to start re-parking after the morning street cleaning (fortunately, we were able to keep enough angry drivers away from several spots in front of our building, but it was VERY stressful doing so), it was ultimately an AMAZING experience. They were so fast and competent and nice! This "niceness" started on the phone with my interaction setting up the appt. I originally had gone with another company who cancelled out on me at the last minute. When I called Men on the Move with my tail between my legs (since I had previously cancelled my order THEM, thinking I'd save a few bucks with another company), they were so helpful and generous about fitting me in despite it being the end of the month and them being as busy as every other moving company around. The guys were so careful packing my stuff, even stuff I didn't care so much about, it was remarkable! And despite the fact that I saw that I had more stuff than we'd estimated for, they hustled so hard to be sure they kept to their promise of 6 hours. I never saw movers work so hard and so fast without sacrificing safety and care. The only issue was that I couldn't add tip to my credit card payment, so they got less of a tip than I would have charged to my account, since I was short on cash. And one metal file cabinet got dented; they must have put something too heavy on top of it, and I was not contacted by the company in regard to this, though I was told I would be and had taken out extra insurance to cover it. I also think they scratched a glass table, but said it was there beforehand, and I can't be sure.
