So I booked this company sorta last minute and they managed to support a pickup date that week... almost. It all went downhill from there.
I booked them to pick up on Monday for pick Thursday. I was told someone would contact me Wednesday to confirm a time for pickup. Never happened. I took Thursday off to wait for them to pick up. Around 1200 I called to see what the story was. No answer. Left a message, couple hours later after no response, I called again. They said they'd contact dispatch and call me back in less than twenty minutes. So some more hours later, after I would have been back from work, I called again. This time I insisted on staying on the line while they talked to dispatch. Turns out their truck broke down and they couldn't get another out for that day.
I was leaving Sunday, come hell or high water, and had to go to Santa Barbara Friday, so saturday was my only option. Saturday was also when I was picking up a rental truck to move some stuff going to a different location. That had to be picked up at by 1. They said they would be there from 8 to 10. I called at 10:30 to figure out where they were. No answer, called again. They said the crew left LA at 5am, usually this is a 3-4hr drive. Around 11, I finally heard from the crew who were lost. After an excruciating process of walking them in, they showed up about 11:30. So now I have no chance of getting the truck I booked because they can't read a map. I book another truck last minute for $500 more.
I tell them I'm looking to have items delivered by the first week of September. IN NO UNCERTAIN TERMS. I don't have a specific address, but the city is certain. They say this shouldn't be a problem. They can keep it in storage an deliver on request. Sounded reasonable and, in fact, in transit storage was sine quo non for any company to be considered.
I get to my destination, find a place and have every reason to expect that I can get my items delivered when my lease starts 1 September. I called during normal business hours, so, true to form, they didn't answer. I left a message that wasn't responded to. They're nothing if not consistent. Little do I know, but, my goods never left California. . So they stored at the source, not the destination. I can't think of anything more obtuse. I told them I needed these things no later than a certain date. They ignored that input, wrote down a date after it and made it impossible to meet the date I told them.
This process has been a parade of errors, incompetence and unresponsiveness from the start. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Pay more, accept a later date, strap your household goods to mules and hope they find their way to your destination. Just DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
