When I was searching for a company to do my cross state move from California to Mayland I chose Low Price Movers because they had such favorable reviews. Pick up went well, the driver and movers were on time, courteous, and efficient. Definitely recommend you have your own packing material it is very expensive. My original quote price was $2,600 I ended up paying $3,800. I was told it would be to my advantage to go off of cubic feet than weight, since it looked like according to the tick mark markers of the truck that I would be over my 5,000 pound estimate. The delivery is when everything took a turn for the worse. My requested delivery date was the 30th of June. Twelve days after my intial pick up. On the 5th of July I called the manager Angie and asked if it would be possible to have my items delivered by the 19th of July becuase I would be out of town for buisness for the next three weeks. She asked her dispatch office, and then replied to me that yes they would accomodate my request. A week later I called back to confirm delivery and was again assured the timeline would be met. Three days before the 19th I called Angie for a status and was directed to call the dispatch office. The first day I was unable to reach anyone the phone went to voicemail and a message could not be left because the mail box was full. The second day I reached the dispatcher and I was told they would not be able to make it by the 19th but three days later. I informed the driver I would be out of town for buisness and he stated that the truck had already left with my stuff. I am single, in a new town, with no friends, or family and a co-worker had to recieve my items. Finally on the 23rd of July the driver delivers my stuff. After my return I had my items delivered by a local moving company. I inspected the items as they removed them from the storage unit and immeidately noticed several large items were missing. Once they delivered my items to my residence I conducted a full inventory against the log sheet. My television was missing, 42 inch plasma tv, 2 queen size bed frames, large components to my wall unit bedroom set, all the screws to the items the movers disassembled, a box of linen, parts to my grand father clock, center piece items, a sconce, and those are items that I recall. Also I have two boxes of some one else's stuff as well. If you are missing a box of clothes that has Sarah's clothes on top and two small gold framed mirrors I have them. Please contact me and I will mail them to you. I informed Angie of this as well and there was no concern to find the rightful owner. If anyone has any of the items listed above please contact me, I am forced to fend for myself to get my property since I was told that there was nothing that could be done. Since my co-worker signed the contract stating he received all of my stuff. He had no clue what stuff I had, how much so how can he possibly verify all of my stuff is there? Be wary if you select Low Price Movers I would hate for anyone to experience what I went through.
