Low Cost Moving

In writing this review, I will attempt to not sound too hyperbolic, but it may prove difficult. This was actually one of the most stressful experiences of my life. I have moved cross country before, but my interaction with this moving company was so horrible, it made the whole ordeal exponentially more difficult. To begin with, the movers did not show up at the scheduled pickup time - they showed up a day late and would not communicate to me that they were going to be late. I simply got a call the day after the scheduled pick-up, and was told that they were going to be showing up at my aparment in 30 minutes and that I had to be there otherwise they would leave my stuff and I would have to wait for another truck the next week.
Upon arrival, and after packing up my things, the driver handed me arevised moving estimate. Suddenly my move would cost more than double (from $1200 initially to $2600) with no explanation given. All the items that they packed were items that I provided with my packing inventory that I provided to the company to make my original estimate, yet no one could tell me why my estimate was now more than twice the original amount. But I had to oblige because they already packed my belongings onto the truck and my flight was that evening.
After pickup, I was told that my things would be arriving at my designated destination in a little over one week (7-10 days). This was in line also with what I was told by my initial sales team. However, after a week without hearing from anyone, I called the company who told me my things were just now on there way out and would take another week and a half.
After this whole ordeal, I get my things and several of my items were missing and several of my other items had been broken. A box clearly marked "Fragile" had not been handled as such. So in total, I spent almost $3000 dollars for a late delivery of my belongings that I ended up having to replace most of, because so much was broken. HORRIBLE experience.
