DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY WILL QUOTE LOW AND COME IN WAY, WAY HIGHER. PLEASE, THERE ARE PLENTY OF OTHER COMPANIES TO USE.
I hired Reliable Low Cost Movers (a/k/a Low Cost Movers) to move our belongings from Irvine, CA to Mystic, CT. The rep Sandy asked to go through all my furnishings to "ensure they give me an accurate quote." We spent 30 minutes covering everything. I was concerned about the # of boxes she estimated (30 for a 3-bedroom condo). I called her back to see how much more for double the boxes, or more. She assured me that it would only be $100 for each addt'l 30 boxes. A couple days before the move, I sent Sandy an email that I had way more like 200 boxes. She wrote back no problem, but later wrote we would be charged extra. I asked how much, but got no response. The movers showed up the day of the move and started loading the truck. They then let me know that I have way more than they quoted, so it would be 4 times the amount, so $8K rather than the $2K. They said to take the offer rather than weigh it or it would be even more. I had no choice; my lease terminated that day. They moved my stuff but were two days late Ryan saying "what's a few days?" Many items were broken. They didn't even crate the mirror they said was a free offer. I had to help the movers just to get done before midnight. They only brought 3 guys.
This was a total bait and switch and Ryan and the owners should be ashamed. At one point when we didn't have the right method of payment upon delivery, they told me it would be $1,500 to re-deliver and three weeks. They left my pregnant wife crying at the doorstep.
