On 04-11-2012 my wife and I contracted Liberty Moving Group, LLC to move our furnishings and belongings from Fall River, Massachusetts 02721 to Sebastian, and FL 32958. On 04-27-2012 Liberty Moving Group, LLC packed up our home into a truck and left for Florida. The moving truck arrived at our new home on 05-05-2012. The items were unloaded promptly. To our dismay 37 pieces of our home furnishings had been neglectfully damaged during transportation, one antique table arrived in twelve pieces, at which the delivery person laughed and dropped on the ground. Liberty Moving Group, LLC’s delivery personnel acknowledged the damage on each delivery receipt with notes and a signature.
We contacted Liberty Moving Group, LLC immediately to express our outrage at the lack of disrespect with which we and our belongings had been treated. It appeared as if our furnishings had been purposely thrown and roughhoused in a neglectful manor during transportation.
On 05-05-2012 we were able to get the owner of Liberty Moving Group, LLC, Zack, on the phone to discuss the matter. We were assured that everything would be handled and our items repaired. We were given the information to file a claim with his insurance carrier.
On 05-26-2012 we filed a claim with Liberty Moving Group, LLC’s insurance carrier, Anthem Claim Management, 40937 Courage Trail Anthem, AZ 85086. The claim included the delivery receipts with acknowledgment of damages by Liberty Moving Group, LLC personnel, 105 photos of the damaged furnishings, an estimate of the furniture repair costs in the amount $3,600.00 from Dowling’s Furniture Repair Palm Bay, FL 32907 and a letter of our claim of negligence on the part of Liberty Moving Group, LLC and their employees.
On 08-26-2012 we received an offer of a settlement for $324.00 and a request to sign a release and settlement of claim order.
We are not satisfied with the settlement offer of $324.00 to repair damages to our home furnishings estimated at $3,600.00.
