Run Away as Fast as you Can - Worst of the Worst
Rich Ryan, the salesman, is one of the slickest people around. He will give you a lowball quote and when you question him on it, asking how it is possible, he will state that they make sure to send the truck out fully packed and can pass the savings on to you.
I still didn't quite believe him so I sent him a very detailed list with the measurements of all my items. He sent me back the same quote. I called him again to verfiy that this quote won't significantly change. I had been laided off and was just thinking about selling my stuff instead of moving it all the way across the country. My move had very few items (studio apartment) so I was on the fence of hiring movers. Again I was reassured that the quote was accurate and would not significantly change. I believed him and that was my downfall. By advised as soon as Rich gets you on the hook and closes the sale you will not hear from him again regardless of how many times you try to get ahold of him.
I was told that my movers would be there between 7 and 9 am. In reality, the movers did not arrive until almost 2 pm. I am not kidding and they weren't even apologetic about it. So when they get there, this is when the real fun starts.
The moving guy tells me that the new estimate is 40% above the quote that Rich gave me. This is AFTER they loaded all of my items onto the truck. If I didn't choose this option, they could go and get my items weighed in Long Beach approximately 2 hours away from where I live and I would have to go with them. Unbelievable! My landlord was there waiting for the keys since they were so late, so I had no choice but to except it. It is a nice little scam they have going on. They know at this point you have no choice but to be gorged.
These are the type of movers that everyone warns you about, dishonest, shady and unprofessional. Please do not make the same mistake I did - do not give this company your business.
