Interstate Movers

The only reason I gave this company 2 out of 6 stars instead of 1 out of 6 if the fact that most of my item weren't horribly damaged. That said, table top tiles were shattered, all my wood furniture was dinged (perhaps unavoidable in a interstate move), and the experience constantly grew from bad to worse.
First of all, my estimate was quoted, and then I submitted my pre-payment. Within the hour, I was called back with an escalated price, but ensured that I should still be happy because I was still receiving a discount. Our mover (who I later learned was brokered out but interstate movers, and not actually an employee of their) was scheduled to arrive on june 30th from 12-4, which was then moved to next day without notification, then the driver did not arrive on the newly rescheduled day, and finally our stuff was picked up 2 hours late on july 1st. The driver took the opportunity to inform me that my quoted cubic feet was way off, and that my price would be increasing by around 500 dollars. I called the company, and they said this was an error because the person who took my quote only listed my beds as twin beds, and that they would not be compensating me for this error. When my things arrived in Texas, the mover was threatening me with late fees if I did not have the cash at 8am, but then he didn't show up till 930 AM. They moved my stuff in, and low and behold, items I had specifically excluded (two old matresses and two bed springs) in the move had made it into my shipment and cubic ft, contributing to my rate increase. I called to have this remedied, and the company assured me nothing would be done about it.
All in all, I would say this was a pretty bad experience. If you want to slowly watch the price of your move escalate, then hire these guys. Coupled with damaged items and immense delays, I would not recommend this to anyone but the most cash strapped and open scheduled of individuals.
