Okay but some red flags make it difficult to recommend them

Infinity Moving and Storage

I'm surprised to see the high number of reviews of Infinity on this site, as well as the contrast between good and bad reviews. I fall somewhere in the middle. They did a decent enough job, but it was also a learning experience for me in using movers for the first time.
Pros:
- They delivered within 6 days. It was nice not to wait too long for a long-distance move.
- The price overall was good, and conditions for extra charges were outlined in the contract. I paid the long-carry charge for the move-in.
- Leading up to the contract signing and initial deposit, customer service was great, but...
Cons:
- There were some damages. A wheel of a garment rack was missing, and the handles on my ab lounge machines were torn up somewhat. The problems could be bigger, but still, these things shouldn't have happened.
- Manny and Mark did a good job moving my stuff both out and in, but the request for gratuity was surprising. Maybe I'm old school, but people shouldn't ask for a tip. Nevertheless, I paid it - don't want to upset anyone holding your household goods, right? Since then, I've learned that the tip was around 2X higher than standard tipping etiquette for movers.
- Customer service was much more curt after the initial deposit. Like most other customer "service" I suppose.
Readers should also note that Infinity is not accredited with the Better Business Bureau and in fact has an unfavorable review on the BBB web site. Furthermore, based on federal guidelines about movers, the initial deposit, the lack of an option to have a quote done in person, and that Infinity did not provide documents about a customer's rights, are all trouble signs. I sigh with relief that things weren't worse, and will be more cautious next time in selecting a mover.
