When I was contacted by Nick their salesman I informed him I had a 10x8 storage shed and a 1 car garage full of boxed items to be shipped (No furniture) I informed him I was planning on doing a POD move. Nice asked me what POD was moving me for and I informed him $1,800.00 he told me he could beat their price, that they were a NY company and had been in business for 10 years. I was contacted again by Nick who told me based on what I had to move it would be $1,070.00 door to door with 30 days free storage if necessary, that they would give me ample time notice prior to deliver so I could make arrangements to be there or have a representative there. I agreed and we set a date for pickup.
The day of pickup two nice gentlemen came to the storage in North Myrtle Beach, they had my stuff loaded on the truck from the storage then they came to my home and loaded the boxes. When the truck driver sat at my kitchen table he informed me after calling Infinity Moving and Storage it would be $2,600.00 I said NO WAY that is not what was quoted me by Nick. He informed me Nice had quoted on 20 boxes not 500 cu. ft of storage. I told him Nick knew what I had and quoted me $1,070.00 door to door and that is what would be honored (Bait and Switch) he called the company and spoke with a Ms. Avi (office manager) after some discussion we agreed on the price I would have paid POD ($1,800.00) for a move to either Las Vegas or Branson , Missouri.
3/27/09: I get a call from Avi stating they were going to deliver my articles to Hollister, Missouri on Saturday 28th between 5-7 p.m. I asked her to wait and deliver in a working day not a weekend she said it would be and additional charge since her driver would be delivering on SATURDAY after normal business hours. We got into a heated argument I stated no business allows delivers outside of normal business hours especially on a weekend which I contented was their way of scamming more money out of the client, that they know most businesses do not allow deliveries on Saturdays. She forward me to a man who was rude about the transaction and who truly did not care what I thought as the client. After some calling I was able to get Jerry's Boat and Storage in Hollister, MO to agree to meet with their deliver driver at their place of business on Saturday between 5-7 o.. to let them into my controlled storage area so we could finalize this transaction and I could be shed of INFINITY FOREVER.
Buyer Be Ware I believe that is how this goes. If your going to do business with this company be forwarned they will scam you, break your articles and not make good on their promises. Make sure you have everything down to the cubic foot if your going to move with this company because they will bait and switch (jack up prices). Make sure you make copies of the credit card slips so you have a record otherwise they will over charge our Visa/MC....all in all they are scammers.
Good luck as for me if I have to do a move again even though i will pack it myself I shall use www.PODS.com when I moved to South Carolina that is what I used and it was great, they were great.
