This should be illegal.
I'm doing my best to file every complaint there is but in the meantime- just need to warn you so it doesn't happen to you.
First of all- don't believe "we're insured". They will, after all your stuff is trashed and missing- will say "the trucks are insured, your things aren't".
You are due "limited liability" of $0.60/pound so for my $1000 things trashed & gone they offered me $200 as long as I didn't file any complaints with the government or warn anyone else.
They left 4 days after they promised. They trashed my place. Put tape on my walls, threw trash on the floor. They broke every piece of framed glass I had.
Don't fall for the low quote. It's NONBINDING- and what a coincidence- once they have it hostage- and you and your child are sleeping on an airmattress- they double the fee and won't release it until you pay. I almost called the police but called the US Dept of Transportation & Better Business Bureau instead.
And no matter what- DO NOT SIGN the papers they tell you to (as if you had a choice). Their own Third Party Customer Service company supervisor Jerome called me "insane" for signing the paperwork the movers put in front of me.
We paid $3256 including for "professional packing" for the privilege of being terrorized and getting only some of my things back.
I sacrificed the measly $200 in order to warn you- so take the warning. DO NOT USE THIS MOVER!!!!
