Hurricane Movers

After a lengthy search for a moving company, I finally decided on Hurricane Movers after I had about 10 other quotes. Their customer service rep I dealt with was AMAZING!! He was so eager to answer any questions, help me with any concerns I had, and make sure I was satisfied with all of the information given. I thought that he would set the tone as to what to expect from the company overall. Boy was I wrong.
The movers came to pick-up in the only time-frame I was NOT available. I had given them a THREE day window to pick up my items, and they chose the ONLY time I was not there to pick-up. Thankfully, my roommate was there.
Not only did they do a HORRIBLE job of packing up the only items I was not able to box myself (i.e. lamps, a bookshelf, etc,) when those items arrived, the only items that were damaged were the ones the COMPANY had PACKED for me. I also ended up paying 300 dollars more for my move because i had more items than what they had said i was quoted for. I told them I didn't have more than 15 boxes, and i didn't, yet I was still charged more!
24 hours before my delivery date, I was given a call that my items were arriving soon. I was not there yet (I was moving from Arizona to Iowa) so my mother drove 4 hours with my grandmother to meet the movers. The man who was supposed to deliver my items couldn't find ANYONE IN MY DESTINATION city to help him move my items. Therefore, he told her he couldn't deliver that day, my mother and grandmother would have to wait another 12 hours until he could find someone to help him move. This was after MANY phone calls from myself to the mover to find out where he was, what time he was expected to be there, etc etc.
The next morning, the mover shows up with his help. (My mother and grandmother slept on an air mattress in my apartment as all my furniture was not there) and items were broken, ALL of my framed art is STILL MISSING, and I have SOMEONE ELSE'S BOXES in my home!! I have called the company THREE times to have them come and pick up SOMEONE ELSE'S THINGS IN MY HOME and they have NEVER COME.
I still have all my framed art missing!! If it was in someone else's home, don't you think I WOULD WANT TO KNOW IT WAS THERE?!
I will NEVER AGAIN USE THIS COMPANY OR RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE. They were the least expensive and now I see why. If you don't mind waiting longer than usual for your things, don't mind having 3 boxes of your things missing, couch pillows missing, lamps and bookshelves broken, then by ALL MEANS!! HIRE THEM! But if you do want a professional move from beginning to end, then GO WITH ANOTHER COMPANY!! Please!!
