My first move was from San Leandro, California to Austin, Texas and this moving company that helped me reach safely to my residence in Austin was outstanding. My last move was approximately 6 years ago and the company I used before do not perform moves in this area. Hence I needed to find a reputable and reliable company that performs moves from Austin.
I started some online research work to identify the moving company that will be able to meet my expectations. I also read some moving reviews, but did not find a single mover having zero negative reviews. For some moving companies it was only negative for some it was a combination of mixed reviews. There were very few movers with comparatively less negative reviews than positive.
I collected moving quotes from United Van Lines, Ameritex, Mayflower, Green Van Lines andOasis. After all of my research I selected Green Van Lines because they were an eco-friendly moving company and because I felt most comfortable with their customer service/online feedback from their previous customers.
My sales rep Arthur was very gentle and patient with me while I was asking tons of questions about my move. He explained everything necessary to make my move successful and hassle free. Although I have moved in the past and know how to get prepared on my own his advice made my preparations even more hassle free.
Arthurs was great, he was polite and knowledgeable, and he knew what was required to get done in order to make my move simple and stress free.
I was quoted $2467 based on the inventory list I described to Arthur. It was an over the phone estimate and he said that it was a binding estimate. I booked a full service move which includes packing, loading and hauling.
On the day of the pickup I was prepared as per their instructions. The movers from Green Van Lines arrived on time wearing organic cotton uniform (that’s what they told me) looking very professional and ready to work. The team leader was very polite and gave clear instructions to the other three guys (I assume he was the leader). They distributed the work amongst themselves to expedite the packing process. They used recyclable packing materials as promised including special crates and boxes. Their team work was impressive. While moving some of my larger furniture they were careful not to damage the floor or the walls and made sure they were not making too much noise because my neighbors tend to complain about EVERTYTHING! The packing and loading was done within the time Arthur approximated the move would take.
I was very nervous when they were about to drive away but the driver reassured me that all my stuff would be handled with care and will be delivered to my destination safely.
I was informed that my goods will be delivered within 3 – 14 days time. I actually received my goods on the 5th day in the afternoon. I did not have any problems with the delivery and the driver was very nice. The pickup and the delivery were done by two different drivers but both were professionals and I can tell they have been doing this for a long time. I haven’t found any damages(although I am still not fully unpacked). I would recommend Green Van Lines to anyone that wants a reliable and honest company.
