I completed an application online for information on Movers. I begin receiving e-mails and calls in regards to quotes. Green Line Moving, Corp. was the cheapest company. I was quoted $220.00 for my 1 bedroom move. I also spoke with Boris on several occasions. When he offered the quote I requested a guarantee that it would not exceed the price quoted. When I received the guarantee I was set to go.
The movers arrived on time. They didn't speak good English which was ok, the mover asked me to sign the form to confirm my address etc. They were great guys but a bit older and much slower. A job that would have taken 3 hrs took 4.5 hrs. When we arrived at the location the furniture was moved in (NO DAMAGE, NO ISSUES). However at the very end the movers left one of my items on the truck I wasn't sure why because I've used a Moving Company in the past three times and they have never done that. So I asked one of the movers can he bring my television up and he told me (No, I have to pay my bill) by that time I went to get the money but when I returned he was on the phone with Boris, they were reviewing my inventory list that I provided to the mover as well as my quote and guarantee.
Then I noticed the mover was adding several charges to the document that I signed when they first arrived, I was shocked that they would edit a document that has already been signed so I immediately reached over the movers hand while he was writing and scratched my name out completely even tearing the form as I scratched my signature out. I told the mover that what he was doing was illegal. He can not edit a contract after it has been signed. It was obvious they had done that before.
It’s a shame to say they would not give me back my television until I spoke with Boris. I called Boris who yelled and screamed at me because he kept telling me that I had more stuff than I stated. I tried to explain to him that I had removed some things off of the inventory list and added other things to replace them. Of course he wouldn't listen, he left me on hold for 10 minutes, and I hung up and tried to call him two more times and he wouldn't answer.
Finally his mover called him, I explained to him that his quote and guarantee is a legal document and I have no more money to give him, he was very upset and said (Oh you have no more money) ok take your TV. After the movers received an ok to return my television I was very upset and decided to review this company.
I think I will go back to my original movers, it was unfortunate that the date I needed was not available with their company. Next time I will wait.
Bottom line is don’t sign any documents even if it’s to confirm your address, get a quote that is guaranteed and request younger movers.
But the movers did a great job taking care of my furniture and wrapping it properly. Kudos to them.
