Great American Van Lines....I could say that they were sure to be on my butt when I first contacted them about my move. But once they had my shipment, they dropped communication quick. They asked if they could come pack up a day before I had originally scheduled, I figured hey that means they have a truck leaving soon to my final destination and might get my stuff earlier. W-R-O-N-G. They did not even ship until almost two weeks AFTER showing up at my house. Dispatch does NOT even answer the damn phone and good luck them getting back to you if you leave them a message. Once they pick up, the wrong guy always answers and promises to give your message and that they will call you back. Nope that isn't happening either.
The three guys that showed up to my house to pack my things tried to rip me off by telling me that "they work based on the tips". They straight out asked me to tip them $100 EACH. The lead guy offered me to give me a discount if I would give them the $300 tip. This guy even wrote a fake invoice so that he could not get in trouble. Of course I had to give the bastards $150 in tips because I felt like if I did not give them anything they would steal my belongings. I have proof of the fake receipt too just in case Great American decides to accuse me of being a liar.
So on to the next problem, like I said they did not ship my belongings until almost two weeks after. They first told me how the truck was ready to ship blah blah blah, then of course the day that my shipment was supposed to be delivered "the truck broke down". Big LIARS. When my belongings arrived....they were delivered by a totally different company. So basically, Great American Van Lines sold off my belongings to another company.
I did not receive my office chair. I called about it, they "found it" and were supposed to bring it to me. Been three weeks, no chair yet.
I was smart enough to move all of my electronics myself, if they are cheap enough to keep an office chair.....I can imagine they would have loved to "lose" a box full of electronics.
Think twice before going with this company. They are shady and lie.
