Our family relocated due to my husband's new job, and so I only had about 3 weeks to prepare for the move. I did some research online, and found Great American as a highly reviewed moving comany in NJ. So I called them up, and went over the list of things I was planning on moving, and the really nice salesperson (I think his name was Tom) walked me through the whole process, and explained to me exactly how everything worked, and sent me a quote for $1200 to my email. It seemed like a pretty good deal, considering the amount of things we've accumulated over the years. I was hesitent to give my details over the phone, after watching a recent news piece about a scam with moving companies. So I decided to do some more research, and see if I can perhaps get a better deal with another company. Well, it was a huge waste of time. Every other decent company (I mean, like, semi-professional at least) was charging me an absurd amount more, most of them at least $2500 for the move. Needless to say, I called Great American back a few days later and booked our move. About 2 weeks later, the moving crew showed up about 10 minutes late (they got a bit lost) and got right to work. Now I can confidently say, after having all my belongings arrive in perfect condition, that I could not have made a better moving decision than hiring these guys. I even tipped them a bit, something I never do, just because I was so impressed with how well they carried everything, without a single complaint. Real pros. I'd hire them again anytime, and just recommended them to my cousin who's moving his office next week.
