Great American Van Lines wasn't my first choice for movers. This being my first move, I needed to move all my stuff out of my parents house and into my new place in Colorado, near my new job. Anyway, I didin't really care too much, and just figured that all moving companies were pretty much the same, and so I entered in my information for a free quote, just to get an idea of how much it would all cost me. A couple of hours later I was getting a LOT of phone calls, and like I said, I just couldn't be bothered with doing any research. Stupid, I know. I ended up signing with basically the first one to offer me a price within my budget, after the salesman (obviously) assured me it was a great price. Well, the day before my move, I called up the company only to find out they were a broker company and had sold my move to another moving company. OK fine. So I call up the actual company that was supposed to be handling my move, and they had 'accidentally' completely forgot about me. Basically, the day before my move, I had no movers, and thought I was completely screwed. Thankfully, about 2 hours of panicking later, I got a phone call from Tom from Great American Van Lines, just to follow up and see if I had been all set for the next day. I explained what was going on, practically in tears, and he just calmed me down, and spoke for a bit. He calculated my stuff and told me he could get the job done the next day for about a third of what the broker company offered me. He told me they charge more because they keep a cut for themselves. Anyway, the next day, the Great American guys showed up and did an immaculate job, taking everything out, and even taking apart my cabinet and bed and put it back in Colorado. I could not have asked for a better service, and am so thankful that everything worked out the way it did. I don't know to much about other companies, but I do know that Great American did an excellent job for the exact price Tom told me over the phone, and I couldn't be happier in my new place.
