I have dealt with many moving companies in the past, some many worse than others. I just recently did a long distance move to Washington to Texas (difficult to begin with) and had an amazing experience with this company. As with life in general, and with most moves, problems or complications arise...and of course with this move in particular. However, this is where Great American shines above the rest. Despite the complications, everything was resolved professionally and all promises were kept.
On a side note, the "extra charges" that people are complaining about is not the fault of the company. The cost of business is expensive and they bill by the cubic foot...basically how much space you take up in their van. The problem is that the customers "add" items that are not on the original estimate, take up more cubic feet, and therefore drive up the cost of doing business. These guys didn't come cheap. They are NOT budget movers....but you will really see the difference in the customer service and personal attention. There is no trickery here....just be VERY specific on what's going and what's staying.
I will be recommending Great American to all of my friends and family
