Where do I start with this company?
The first red flag was that I called them back after getting an initial quote for a move to Florida from California. The quote had nearly doubled in price due to summer rates. Okay, I get it...summer is a more expensive time to move. Fine. We went ahead and went with the company because it seemed like our best option.
I got a quote for 750 cubic feet worth of space because that was the minimum for summer. My sales person, James, told me that this would be more than enough space for our items. James gave me a quote over the phone based on the items that we had. He explained that based on our items we would likely only need around 450-500 cubic feet of truck space. So our move day comes and we are told that we have roughly 1300 cubic feet worth of stuff. We had placed maybe two extra items on the truck from the phone quote. Two end tables...large, but certainly not 500 extra cubic feet.
Go Pro insisted that I had not given them accurate information and that the fault was mine. They charged me an additional $1300 out of pocket on the day of the move.
Okay...fine...At least James agreed to waive the cost of going up stairs on the day of our move. At least our stuff looked like they had wrapped it up thoroughly and would not be damaged.
The day of our move comes...the last day that they had to hit their deadline...noon rolls around. No movers. I call the phone number I was given and a very gruff man tells me very curtly "oh...we'll be there tomorrow"
Fine. okay, fine. Truck drivers are gruff and moving is a logistical nightmare. A day late isn't THAT bad.
They get here. the man, a subcontractor, was EXTREMELY rude to me, even going so far as approaching me with hostility in my home because he claimed that I had not offered them any water (I had, in fact, offered them DINNER, he just hadn't heard)
FINE.
Except that they insist on charging me for going up the stairs to my third story apartment...
FINE, they're sub contractors. I call Go pro and get it straightened out that they will go ahead and pay for this.
OKAY...except now my stuff is in my house, and we had a dresser that has been almost completely destroyed, a book shelf with parts missing, a bedside table with the top fully ripped off, our kitchen table with DEEP scratches in the surface, and a very nice coffee table from West Elm with bad damage.
FINE. stuff breaks, this doesn't include the broken mugs by the way.
All that, plus our 32 inch plasma TV is missing. I call them and let them know, they tell me they'll investigate and that I should fill out a claim form if they can't find it.
I call a week later and talk to the same person who tells me that they can't find it and that i'll need to fill out a claims form. I ask to make sure that they aren't going to try and reimburse me the standard 60 cents per pound for an entire missing TV. He says I didn't purchase additional insurance but that they'll see what they can do. I tell him that I've had about enough of this from their company and that an entire TV set is missing. He asks if I have a receipt for it.
I tell him that of course I don't have a receipt, the tv is two years old. Who keeps a receipt for that long? He says he does and when I interrupt him he starts getting high and mighty with me that my interrupting him doesn't feel too good.
At this point i've had enough, I tell the guy he has no business telling a paying customer whose stuff has been lost and damaged that interrupting is impolite.
HE HANGS UP ON ME
Don't ever use this company. They're shady, unethical, and rude. I will be filing my claim with their insurance company as well as the better business bureau. I've never had such a horrible experience dealing with ANYONE in my life
