Stop! Don’t even think about using Go Pro Vanlines. I guarantee that any good review was put on the Internet by Go Pro Vanlines. A different Mover revies.com is full of positive reviews, and I can't even put a review on it, without a doubt it's put there by Go Pro. I found out thru the California Department of Weights and Measures that they have already been shut down once. If I would have complained to the US Department of Transportation, they would be shut down again. Go Pro needed 1 more complaint in the area of their charges.
The public does not know about this site, I didn’t. On the site, you can check how many complaints any moving company has had. I wish I would have known. A consumer only has 60 days to make a complaint. I never made a complaint because I thought that if I didn’t they would work me with the theft, ruining my cherry furniture, and more than doubling the quoted price.
After speaking to the CA Department of Weights & Measures it is absolutely not true that they can move you by square footage as Go Pro Vanlines state. The truck has to be weighed. It was explained to me that it is another scam to get your business. She also explained that the moving companies, get shut down, and then just change the company name which Go Pro did.
In CA the phone number is 916-229-3003, and they are ready to fight on your behalf, if you have moved within the state. I would call your state Department of Weights & Measures, along with going to Protect My Move. Gov. They don't own trucks so you can't track their license plate for weight per the government. Their entire company only owns one truck.
Go Pro Vanlines more than doubled my original quote when they got to my 1 bedroom condo. I had gone over each and every box, and item with my sales person Emma. When the moving men arrived, they immediately looked around and determined that my cost was $2,645 after being quoted $1,260. I left my $4,500 sofa, and overstuffed chair to defray the cost. They only took $300 for all of that room, and weight being removed, I had so little furniture. Then they left my floor lamp.
They double counted the items that were on my inventory list. Almost every piece of furniture was damaged. My cherry amore had a piece broken off, and then the movers laid the finished half on the cement in the storage unit. A box with $200-$300 belts and fur had been opened, with things missing, and everything left was damaged.
I asked them to store my furniture in their warehouse in CA. I sent them a check for $100 which was immediately cashed even though they did not store it.
I tried to get my money for storage back, and other help. Nathan, a mgr. said he'd call me back. After I called again, and 2 weeks later and no return call in regard to anything.
