I need to let you know and everyone in your office that my moving experience with your company was an unbelievably bad experience. The movers didn't call me on my moving date or the day before to verify my move. I called as it was Sunday, September 28, 2014 and left a message knowing the office was closed and I text you because I did not know who to contact. I eventually received a call from a man named Simon on that day stating the movers would not be capable of coming until the following day, Monday, September 29, 2014. I was thankful somebody called and I understand things can go wrong with trucks and movers so we tried our best to live in our packed apartment for another day.
Monday came and no call again. I was so scared that a mover was not going to come and waited on pins and needles. One of the movers called me at around 12 noon on Monday and said they would be a couple of more hours. When they arrived things got very bad. One of the movers, I wish I had their names, was very gracious and apologized for being late. The other mover was very hostile throughout the entire moving process, threatening to not move a box-spring mattress at least five times and pushing it up against the wall. He also told me repeatedly that I should have checked my moving list better before signing it. He stated that I did not have a hutch on the list and that he was going to charge me a lot for it. I tried to tell him that it was indeed on the list but he would not listen to me. He was hostile speaking unclearly and fast, and kept threatening to charge me more and more for everything. I felt scared and very fortunate that my fiancé was
there with me because I would not want to be alone with this man.
We were at his mercy throughout this move knowing that I had to start a new job in Michigan and could not cancel this move or find someone else. I asked the mover many times to please call his office and talk to someone about all of this complaints. He said he didn't care because he was getting paid no matter what happens.
When the move finally came to an end he added 600 dollars to our moving expenses. He said the cubic feet was more than the original estimate. I had no proof if he was just telling us this because he had threatened us all day about raising our moving price. We originally thought that the movers would pack our dishes and plates because we would be flying and unable to pack a car. Luckily, we decided to drive so we did not need them to pack for us. Our load was not big, maybe a studio apartment. I never felt so threatened by a mover. I do not know why he came to us in this manner and attacked up for hours. He even talked down to my fiancé, making inappropriate remarks about him being the man in our relationship.
Please help me understand why I was not treated as a paying customer?
