I must say that I had a rather pleasant experience using Flat Price to move my stuff. Steve told me the price and informed me that if I exceed the specified weight in the quote, the excess weight will be calculated at the same exact per lb rate as all of my accounted for weight. I did end up exceeding by 327lbs but they told waived the extra cost. God knows I need it right about now.
All in all, Flat Price Moving & Storage has a team of well mannered, honest, hardworking and bright individuals working for them. Their prices are definately the best, but I did get some of those "BS" quotes for like 800-900 dollars... Common now, if you believe that, then you deserve to get ripped off! All I could recommend is, pay attention to the details in the quote including:
Terrifs: Definately a sign for BS
80% off: Seriously?!? I wonder how they afford to stay in business and remain lucrative... Please have some common sense to avoid the most common scams.
2000lbs at $0.60lb (as per your inventory) and $0.85/lb for any excess weight. Are you kidding me? How in the world does that make any sense. By their theory, they could miscalculate the weight or cubic feet (depending on if they have both options) to purposely be lower and then charge you at $0.85/lb for the "excess" weight that they themselves concocted.
Anyway, kuddos to Flat Price Moving & Storage and to Steve and Angie for going above and beyond their job and Tomer (the foreman) for being so cool about the excess weight and remaining professional throughout the entire move. You guys are awesome and you definately have my referral!
