I choose to use a professional mover. I was warned not to use brokers, but I chose a broker off the premise that if something wrong happened they would stand in on my behalf and handle all issues. I am glad I did chose FNVL. I was quoted a fair midranged price on a 3 bedroom move going across the country. THe movers showed up, and did an inhome on the spot walkthrough. I had no additional items, they just claimed that my items on the list were underbid. I called FNVL, and within about 10 minutes they had the issue resolved. After loading everything I asked the driver what the standard shipping times were, and he indicated around 2-3 weeks to go from Cali to FLorida. I opted to get it sooner so I paid a $1200.00 rush fee and got my items in FLorida in less than a week. Upon delivery I recieved a stairs fee as I live on the 3rd story. Still the movers threw two flights in for free. I had no damages, lost or stolen items. I am actually happy that I went with a broker, cause had I not then the day of my move I would have had thousands of dollars in additionals. Thank you First National Van Lines.
