Absolutely do not select this company! Check the DOT Website, Better Business Bureau, and multiple moving review websites and you will find similar negative ratings of First Call Movers. First Call Movers is a broker which they never mention until after they receive your deposit. Here is the scam - give you a low ball estimate, take your deposit and keeping you hanging until they can find a carrier to take your move for a low price. The Customer Service agent refused to contact a manager or locate a carrier a day after our move was already supposed to been fulfilled... Nor did they inform of us any change to the dates. Not only that they refuse to refund our deposit for the only service they promise... "find someone to move you!" Here is what you can expect... Contacting First Call Movers regarding the status of your move will be your responsibility. Expect plenty of time on hold speaking to multiple people who are all sitting in the same office building, no one takes ownership of your move. Expect them to deny responsiblity. No one moves without confirming the date but First Call Movers will be quick to remind you they don't guarantee a date at all, that is because they can't find a carrier. Expect them to remind you of the big bold letters in the contract that say they are a broker, not a carrier. You can also expect that a unknown individaul will respond to this and many other reviews with "We strive to exceed the customer’s expectations and continually aim to give our clients the highest level of service possible. We stand behind our work and take pride in operating in the most ethical manner." It is all bogus. Reputable brokers deal with reputable movers and take responsiblity through the entire process start to finish. If there is anything I have learned through this process is to take your time and do research.
