DO NOT LET THESE MOVERS TOUCH YOUR PERSONAL BELONGINGS!!! You will regret ever contacting them. It is unbelievable all of the problems we have had with this company. I have had to call them over 20 times about issues with my move and they NEVER call back. I originally had a quote of $1200 to move my tiny 2 bedroom apartment with 30 boxes, a couch, entertainment center, and futon mattress. I am now having to pay double that just to get them to release my personal belongings to me, and I am still waiting. The third party mover they use, Dean's Logistics, is a one-man operation and he is a liar and thief! He will try to get whatever money he can out of you.
I was told I could make 3 payments, a deposit of $400 to begin with, $400 at the time of pickup, and $400 at time of delivery. When Doron (Dean's Logistics) arrived to pick up my stuff (A DAY LATE) he refused to disassemble/reassemble any furniture I had bought from IKEA...for whatever reason, I'm still not sure of. So I had to leave my $300 entertainment center and my $75 end table in my origin state. After he had loaded everything into his truck, he gave me a total due of $1000!!! I explained to him my BINDING estimate was for $400 at pickup and I agreed to pay whatever extra for a couple of boxes I had not accounted for, but not $600 more, especially after he refused to take some furniture that was included in my quote. He also charged me DOUBLE for gas, which doesn't make since considering most of the furniture weight was being left behind. He followed my husband and I around town in his truck (with our belongings, because he refused to unload them and was holding them for collateral) so that we could find the extra money to pay him.
After getting to our destination state, Florida, I called First Call Movers to get some kind of explanation for the clear mix-up in my contract and I spoke with multiple sales reps because they refused to get me to a supervisor. It is now a couple days before Doron is supposed to deliver my stuff and I have finally been able to get in touch with someone that "claims" to be a supervisor, Patty, after weeks of calling EVERY DAY. She was extremely rude and made me a promise to get back to me with a solution...I am still waiting. The communication between their sales employees(who lie to you from the beginning), their so-called supervisors who have no power to do anything, and their third party moving company(which is a joke) is not there. There is no communication, they are all a bunch of liars and only care about getting as much money out of their customers as possible. As soon as you give First Call Movers their deposit money, they are done with you and don't feel the need to call anyone back. I am still waiting for my belongings(my whole life) to get to me...and truthfully, I wouldn't be surprised if Dean's Logistics has already pawned everything I own. I wish I had gone with a bigger, more well-known moving company because at least I would know there would be some kind of professionalism and care with the possessions I have spent my whole life acquiring. PLEASE DO NOT GIVE THESE THIEVES ANY OF YOUR TIME OR MONEY, I PROMISE YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!!
I now have to go through the legal process to try and get most of my money back. You do not want to deal with these people.
