I moved across the country from Kentucky to Arizona and chose Eco Van Lines because of pretty decent reviews and the lowest quoted price. I have several issues with this company.
1. They quoted a price based on the number of boxes I had and estimated how many cubic feet they would take up. What they didnt tell me is that the assume you will be using very small boxes (mine were about 3 ft by 2 ft). The price I had to pay when they picked up my stuff was increased by about $800.
2. The movers that picked up my stuff were extremely slow and took 5 hours longer than what they originally told me it would take.
3. My delivery time was requested for September 1st, they didn't arrive til the 20th.
4. The movers that delivered were Russian and could not speak english at all. When directing them to put something in a certain room they would nod their heads then put them somewhere else. The also put ALL of our boxes in the garage without putting them in the correct rooms.
5. Here is the worst part: My master bedroom is completely destroyed. Headboard, footboard, dressor, mirror. All broken. My 55" Sony LCD was shattered. I also had numerous dishes destroyed. They also stole/misplaced a couple boxes containing a drill, curtains, coffee maker, etc...
6. I was also told by Barry on the phone that I could ship my AR-15 assault rifle and that it just needed to be secured and unloaded. Well, when the movers arrived, my gun did not. I have reported it stolen so as not to be liable if it is used in a crime.
7. They pressure you into getting the full value insurance but why should I have to pay an extra $800 just to protect myself from them not being able to do their job? What happened to standing by your work? So with their .60 per pound coverage I will probably get about $300 from my claim even though I estimate that I have lost between $3k and $4k.
Customer service after the move has been a joke. Had I known this would happen I would have just sold everything I owned before making the trip.
