Their estimate of cost was way off and I had to pay a bunch more than
I expected. They took a long time to bring it all, and when they
arrived I HAD TO ARGUE WITH THE DELIVERY MAN who insisted that my
second floor apartment was up 4 flights of stairs and therefore I owed
him more money!!! They broke several items, including an expensive
custom piece of glass that was well packed in a mirror box: the mirror
box had a HUGE dent in the side and the glass was broken in half!
Either they laid it flat, or they crashed something into the middle of
it. I have moved this same glass several times, including across the
country, and this has never happened. In fact, they also broke
another piece of glass at the corner (was also carefully packed in a
mirror box). Several other things were broken as well. Plus, one of
my wardrobe boxes arrived missing its bar, and all the clothes were
crumpled at the bottom of the box. I hadn't thought twice when
signing the paperwork at the beginning that had stated there was only
60 cents per pound insurance because I have never had damage from
moving before. As a result, I got less than 10 percent of the value
of what was broken from Eagle, a pittance really, not even worth
filling out the paperwork. Never again. Never, never, never!
