After getting quotes and considering six different moving companies I decided to go with Dimension Moving and it turned out great. I chose Dimension because Trisha seemed to be more responsive than the people at some of the other moving companies and more able to accommodate our special requests such as an early Saturday pickup and insurance waivers as no extra charge.
The movers were a little late but our pickup location can sometimes be hard to find, especially at 6 A.M.! However once the movers arrived they really hustled and got moving, making up for the lost time. By 9:30 A.M. they had loaded almost 50 desks and 60 chairs. We arrived at the delivery site at 10:30 and they had everything in place by 12:45 P.M. They were cooperative and helpful and took reasonable care in moving the furniture.
In the end the move was completed faster (6 hours instead of the estimated 8 hours) and less expensive (around $1,400 instead of the estimated $1,900). As a side note many of the other companies quotes came in from $2,400 to a whopping $4,500.
One thing to be aware of when using Dimension (and probably other movers) is that they require payment BEFORE unloading. Since they charge by the hour, they provide an estimate of how long unloading and delivery will take and you pay that first before unloading. If they finish faster you may be paying a bit too much. In our case they estimated finishing at 2:00 P.M. but we pushed a bit, since we figured it should take less time to unload than to load and just paid to 1:00 P.M. They hustled a bit and finished at 12:45 P.M.
All in all, our experience with Dimension was good, their staff was friendly and helpful and we would use them again.
