I initially scheudule my move with a very well-known "reputiable" company. The day before my move date someone from their office called me asking me if there was anyway that I could change my move time from 8am to 4pm; I ultimaely didn't have a choice because when I told them that it was imposble due to my move in building time restrictions, they asked me if I'd consider changing my date!!! Which was out of the question!! After a stressful argument with a manager he refunded me my deposit and hung up on me.
At that point I considered asking two of my brothers to help and renting a truck ( I have very heavy old antique furniture); my brothers were hesitant but yet wanted to help. He called one of his buddies and cube moving was recommended. I was still in complete shock about my prvious moving company's behavior and it made me a little apprehensive to move forward with any company. My brother took the liberty of calling for me, he lasted all about 10 minutes on the phone and he was given an estimated price. The price seemed unreal since the previous company had quoted me almost double of that! I decided to schedule an in-home estimate. When the estimator arrived (to my surprise he was friendly and respectful), all with-in 5 minutes with his company I felt a little better about my move. The adjusted price was only slightly higher than quoted to me. Which was still excellent because it was a flat rate binde price.
At the day of the move, the movers could not have been any nicer. They were respectful and made sure that nothing was left behind. They cleaned up after their mess and even assisted me with some dumping items. I actually had a few extra items that I bough last minute ( boxes with dining table set) and they included it for no extra cost. For these reasons I felt great tipping them a little extra.
Nothing was broken, they made me feel comfortable and the move was swift!
