Tina Borda worked with us explaining the process for the overseas move and working with the firm here in the Netherlands on their limits etc.
Then – the air shipment was packed with skill to get as much in as possible with no damage to any item. Thanks to Tito for getting in much needed chairs!
And next, the bigger sea shipment. The packing crew were outstanding. Adan and his crew had to work with my system of marking which items were to go to The Netherlands, which to storage, and which were to be left. They did this just right. They packed our things with more care than I might have. They treated our belongings as if it really mattered to them that they arrive safe and sound.
The crews showed up on time and made sure there was no damage to the house, the carpets, etc when they went in and out with everything.
With all the moving you do you understand the anxiety that is associated with all your belongings being packed by people you do not know, into a transportainer that is put on a ship and will arrive who knows when. On the Monday that the delivery was scheduled we were anxious to see how everything survived. After cutting off the security bolt the transportainer was opened, the wooden supports removed and there were all our things. Just fine.
The Dutch movers were very impressed with the quality of packing and packing materials that were used. In the entire process only one wineglass was broken … when I dropped it on the floor when I was unpacking!
