I had a truly awful experience with Cross State Moving. They estimated an arrival time of 2-4 p.m., then called at 3:15 to say they were 30 minutes away. I was then told it was a mistake, and that another truck was coming around 5. Fine. Then it was 5:30, then 6 XXXthey didn't come until 6:15.
The customer service response was terrible. I was told I would not be getting a discount and, although I was perhaps a bit rude as I became more frustrated, was simply told "fine, do you want to cancel?" when I said I was disappointed with the service.
When the movers finally did come, they told me that the estimate given by the company was probably too low and that it would cost more. I'd given all the correct info, and I think it was done to lie and make me book with their company. They have an extra 3% charge for credit cards, and since I didn't know the exact cost to take out cash, I had to do a credit card.
That said, the movers themselves were helpful and they did a great job wrapping up the furniture and moving it without doing any damage.
If you're ok with potentially long waits and terrible customer service, book away. They did the job well, but I would never support the company again.
