Longest/Worst Move of My Life

It should have been a sign when the original estimate of two trucks and four men was reduced to one truck and two men for a 200 sq foot, 3 bedroom home with sunroom and office. Had the original number of men and trucks been delivered things may have gone much more smoothly and only have taken one trip. Midway through loading the first load a man named Derek started telling the men on site that we needed to go to the bank and get cash. I advised that I had spoken with Gretchen previously and that a credit card was agreed upon. While enroute with the first load Derek called me and said his men would not unload the truck unless we paid for the move in cash. I told him that I would not be paying in cash he said they would not unload my possessions. I advised that I would have to call the police if they refused to unload or leave without unloading. My wife was able to reach Tim while we were in transit and cleared the credit card payment. We later learned that there would be a 5% credit card fee.
Summary: The bright spot was the two young men who actually did the work. They worked hard and long with great attitudes to finish a job that was poorly planned and communicated. But, as a company, Compton Brothers is not a company that I would recommend to my worst enemy. The move took nearly 12 hours in two loads, tried to run some kind of scam during the move to have us pay in cash and were not available to answer our concerns during the move.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS MOVER!!!!!!
