Do NOT use Capital Moving for ANY move you have to make. They lie about quotes, they lie about how they treat your belongings, and then they hold your stuff for ransom until you pay! I was quoted less than half of what the total weight of my goods came to (and I possess nothing out of the ordinary that should result in such a misquote). My furniture was not wrapped in moving blankets, as they state in their emails and online. Instead, it was wrapped in clear packing tape. That resulted in the finish being stripped off of everything wooden that the tape touched (i.e. all of my furniture). In addition, when I received my furniture it was falling apart, pieces had been busted off and important parts were missing. Almost everything I own was rendered useless. On top of that, before I even knew that everything was ruined, the moving company showed up on the delivery date and then refused to unload anything from the truck until I paid a price that was over $1000 more than what I had been expecting. I'm a poor student, and went with what seemed like a reliable and affordable option. Instead, I was completely ripped off, plus I now have to pay to replace my destroyed belongings. Thanks a bunch Capital Moving... I didn't have nearly enough debt to begin with.
Also FYI, I recently learned that they are illegitimately using the BBB logo on their website and in yellowpages ads. In reality, they have no affiliation with the better business bureau (other than a number of complaints), and the BBB has asked them to remove the logo from their advertising numerous times.
I have also read that the VP of the company is also the VP of another company called "Noble" - which has an equally shady reputation.
Do your research folks, I beg you!! These guys take advantage of the unknowing individual and rip them off for everything they can.
How can such seemingly normal human beings run such a shady business, scam innocent and POOR people, and still sleep at night?!? Answer me Capital Moving!
