In response to the owner's claims: Our antiques were in good condition. We never claimed otherwise. They had the typical minor scratches & old patina. We had to sign an inventory list with hundreds of items in small print with letter & number codes. at midnight in the dark & we were exhausted . Our house was the 2nd move for these movers. Driver stated he had been up since the middle of the night. He left our house after 12:00 PM & drove straight thru to NC.....NOT SAFE! Owner stated numerous times that our load would not be removed from the truck because it was so large. His office assistant also confirmed this information. Our belongings were not safely stored in a warehouse. The fact that the padding was removed & heavy lawn furniture THROWN on top of our furniture was not addressed. The iron gates on top of our unpadded cabinet broke the door from its frame. We were in shock when the back of the truck was opened which revealed what had transpired! We never harrassed the movers but were visibly upset when we saw how our favorite pieces were carelessly destroyed. The owner never contacted us to apologize or offer any compensation other than a small amount of money for a bent floor lamp.
