CEH arrived at our downtown apartment building in Manhattan to find a sea of vehicles parked out front. Cops were yelling at people to keep it moving, and horns were honking non-stop. It was chaos.
Charles hopped out of the truck, greeted me warmly and his crew got to work. They swiftly loaded the entire contents of our one bedroom apartment, taking extra care to wrap furniture that my wife and I had left unprotected. Despite mounting pressure from red-faced policemen, Charles and his crew kept cool, refusing to leave until everything was inventoried and in its right place.
The next time I saw CEH was in downtown Savannah, a decidedly more laid back environment than the Financial District—except for the fact that our new apartment is on the busiest corner in the city, watched over by hordes of meter maids with twitchy fingers. I quickly learned that I was supposed to have secured some kind of special permit allowing CEH to park in the alley behind my building. I had no idea about this, so I called up the head of parking services for the city to sort it out.
Charles and his crew started working double-time. In just over an hour, everything was unloaded, and (with a little bit of stalling) I avoided a citation from the city for untold sums of money. The CEH guys stayed smiling and positive the whole time.
Charles meticulously ticked items off his inventory list while his crew hauled the last our belongings upstairs. Everything was present and in the exact same shape we left it.
Charles, Jacobi and the rest of the CEH crew did a great job. What's more, they did it with heart. They really care about what they're doing, and that means a lot to me.
