I am moving every 2 years due to my work and decided to use BMM. I had someone coming to my house for an estimate and recieved a qoute via email. I have noticed few things that I indicated that will be moving were not entered on the qoute, so I called the company and informed them. I was told price will not change not the space needed on the truck. The qoute indicated 6000 lb and 13.3 Sq. Ft of space.
On moving day I had removed from the inventory a grill and 2 bycecles which I knew are going to reduce the space and cost. Moving started on time with 3 people and a driver. I got the team food and water to ensure they have a nice expereince during their work. They slowly started removing things to the truck, and at some point informed me that they are running out of space. It was mentioned that I will have to contact the company due to the fact that we need more space, and there are costs involved. It appears that I ended up using the entire truck (22.5 ft) which resulted a discrepancy of 9.5 sq. ft. I contacted customer service and informed that I am not planning to pay anything due to the fact that the error is on their end - I was willing to pay the difference of 1-2 sq. ft but 9.5??? How come the quote indicated only 13.3 and I removed items that were included in the inventory?
After speaking to customer service on and on, I said - you guys do what you need to do, and I will do the same, the rep mentioned they will inventory everything at the destenation to find out where the error was. I explained to him that he will find that the person who provided the estimate was wrong, and that is all there is to it, and yet no resolution.
Unloading day-had to call the driver a day prior to find out when is he planning to arrive - no communication from anyone since the pick up moment. Driver infomed he will be there at 8am - met him there at 8:30 but the unload team was not present till 10:15 (here is another wasted day).
ALL OF MY FURNITURES, INCLUDING MY TV were damaged! the movers did not arrange the track properly, they didnt protect it and as a result I have damaged items.
I am now starting the process with insurance and I KNOW that it is not going to be easy and worry free process as I was promissed.
STAY AWAY - Pay more and get a company that knows what they are doing and provide you with a proper customer service.
