From the start, the waiting game of moving was a nightmare. I had to follow-up with the driver to find out when they would be arriving. I was told in 3 hours. 3 hours comes and goes and I had to again follow-up with the mover asking where they and I was given excuse after excuse. It is common courtesy, especially in business, to be on time and if you are late, to simply call the person and let them know what is going on. 2 1/2 hours later, the driver and one mover show up. I helped them move as I was on a schedule. What a concept. I called Budget customer service and let them know what happened and that I was not pleased.
The miscommunication and lack of communication between Budget and their moving companies, this one, Empire Relocation out of Denver, CO, is beyond ridiculous. I honestly do not know how such businesses stay in business.
Moving day, I also received 4 phone calls from different people at Empire Relocation again, one hand not knowing what the other hand was doing. Each person giving me the relatively same information, repeated information or late information as I was already told.
The next day, I receive a t/c from Empire Relocation stating they could not find a driver but they were working on it and delivery could be 'late afternoon' or the next a.m. I was told I would receive a call letting me know the status of the move. Then, at 2:30 p.m., a knock is at my door and it's the driver/mover! No telephone call was made to me letting me know when delivery was going to happen. Check this out - all they sent was ONE guy, the driver! How in the world is one guy supposed to move a couch, very heavy boxspring, mattress, dressers and 75 boxes!! As I did the night before, I helped the guy move. He was amazing - fast, strong and a good sense of humor. This was a nightmare and stating the obvious, I will never use Budget Van Lines again. The contracting out to local moving companies was never explained and the estimates, binding estimates, miscommunication, goes downhill from there. I'm emotionally and physically spent from this experience and I financially paid for it.
