IF YOU USE BUDGET VAN LINES AFTER READING THIS POST, YOUR AN IDIOT. ALL THE OTHER GOOD REVIEWS OUT THERE WERE POSTED BY THEM. READ TEH BAD ONES BECAUSE THEY ARE REAL.
The movers arrived at the last possible time in our window, at night with no lights and was not properly staffed to load the van. We had to have several people assist the movers in loading the van and it still took five hours to load a one-bedroom house full of furniture. We had to cover all of our furniture as it began to rain and then proceed to loan the van with them.
They turned our plamsa tv on its side after we told them not to and had to tell them a second time to get them to put it upright.
After all of these issues arose, we contacted the broker for resolution and guidance, and they did not bother to call back. The broker escalated the issue to his manger and she NEVER contacted me. I called and emailed her several times with no response. After attempting to contact the sales agent to let him know the manager never called, he never returned any emails or calla either. The worst burn was the he promised. "to see things through to the end with us." That was the biggest joke of all.
To top it all of the movers barely spoke english and they did not offer any additional insurance on our items.
how these people sleep at night I do not understand. We were taken advantage of and forced to pay an extra $1k on top of our qoute. We added under 10 additional items to the binding list like a rug, a golf bag, a vacuum, which broke the orginial negotiated contract price. Then the entire shipment was based solely on weight. Make sure EVERY item is on your binding contract or you'll get RAPED for a price too. Budget...that the biggest joke of a name out there. We should have went with Allied because although they were more expensive, this shady broker and mover arrangement would have never happened.
