Best Time Movers is a HUGE Scam

I could type at length about this company but will try and keep this brief. I am amazed that my original quote was for $260, yet they tried to charge me $960! This company has scamming down to a science.
* Travel time- On my estimate, travel time was listed as one hour yet I was charged 2 hours. Since the office did not change locations, nor did the address that I moved to, the original 1 hour travel time should not have changed. This was on the estimate and the company showed up early.
* All times were rounded up to the nearest hour (I was told this is company policy) although I do not see this anywhere on the website.
* Moving pads- I was originally told that moving pads were included, however once the movers showed up, they attempted to charge me for these. After considerable time this fee was waived.
*Once the movers arrived and I got the $960 estimate, I tried to cancel. I was then told it would be a $300 fee.
* Packing supplies- All of my boxes were taped however, Pirouz estimated that 18 rolls of tape would be needed. Although I did not believe my boxes needed to be retaped, they did so anyways. I was then charged for 18 rolls of tape, even though there were only 7 empty rolls in my house.
* Trash- all plastic wrap and tape rolls were left on the floor and in the street at my old and new residence. This is how I am able to say with assurance that 7 rolls of tape were used while moving my items.
* Estimate- My original estimate was for $260. On this estimate I included several heavy objects that I did not have in my house (picnic benches, box wardrobes…) so that the estimate would be high, and I would have enough money on me. With that said, my total was more than double the estimate and came in at $573.00! This is $200 more than my girlfriend had paid a competiting company to move her entire house the previous week (distance was exactly the same)!
* Since the total was more than twice what I was quoted, I was forced to leave several objects at my old residence. This forced me to retain the help of friends to move the rest (defeating the purpose of hiring movers in the first place).
These are just some of the issues I experienced. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone and strongly urge people to NOT use them. I can only imagine that my move would have cost considerably more had I not watched them each step of the way.
