Beacon Moving & Co came to move my family about a week ago from NY to VA. I was given a verbal and written binding quote from Beacon with items that I had listed online. I was told a price of $1350.00 - $100 coupon so my total came out to be $1250 for a basic 1 1/2 bedroom apt. I didn't have a lot of things to be moved but what I had was valuable enough for me to spend $1250.00 to move it. The movers that came to my house very nice , respectful and did a good job packing the truck. I was charged the same amount I was told over the phone , I was delivered my items 5 days later (delivery on a Saturday no charge), when they were unloading my stuff I noticed one of the boxes looked like it had be crushed or mushed. When I opened the box I noticed there was a slight crack in one of my plates and a broken glass cup. I took a picture of the box as the movers told me and they marked it on the inventory. I was told I'd get a claim form online to fill out for reimbursement from the claims ppl. That Monday I got a email and call from NCM who said the process could take up to 30 days sometimes for them to cut a check once they verified the claim. I sent all the papers and the pictures to them. I'll be honest the broken glass and cracked plate wasn't a big deal for me but the movers insisted that I take the pictures and mark on the inventory. So well see what happens but in regards to the movers and the move in general I was very happy and satisfied customer. I would like to use them again in the future if I ever need to do a move again.
