This company cares little for who they are moving and only about their bottom line. I have moved 6 times and this is the first time I have been scammed. I was prepared and understood the risks of a local move around the Beltway. They kept changing the pick up time and each time I would explain that loading in DC then going to Falls Church (storage) to the final destination in Baltimore is very time dependent due to traffic.
They were late causing us to run very much behind schedule. At the second stop we lost a guy and I had to bring up that I was paying for 3 and got 2. I will admit the guy who was left in charge felt bad for me and kept giving me a reduction in price. It was still over double the estimate. And therefore it killed the tip I would have given.
If they had just upped the price to something more realistic then it would be have been reasonable. But clearly, it was as if they mapped out the move and thought I can screw her on the beltway portion during rush hour. When I called to complain the guy called me an idiot and told me to listen to what I had agreed to, but I hadn't agreed to a late time.
I should have chosen not to move with them once I realized they were going to scam me. 9 hours for 25 boxes and 9 pieces of furniture (no couch, no armchairs, no appliances, and no glass)
