we used Blue Line Van Line to move us cross country from Chicago to Arizona. What started off over the phone with the company as a pleasant experience soon turned into the worst and most stressful experience. To begin, we had a very very difficult time getting movers insurance through an outside insurance company because the companies that Blue Line Van Line highly recommended and said that they had a great reputation with didn't even have them on file because Blue Line Van Line hadn't completed all of there paperwork. This took many many phone calls (over a week) by me going back and forth between the insurance company and blue line van line to get this resolved. It was beyond a frustrating experience and should have backed out then when the red flag was clearly waving right in front of me. The day of the move was the most miserable experience for us as well. Not only did they add close to $2000 on to our quote after I was told that the maximum it would go up would be $500 but one of the movers stole my husbands Burberry watch off of our bathroom counter after I clearly explained to the movers that that room was off limits and the door should remain shut. Unfortunalty we didn't realize it was missing after they had left at which point nothing could be done. We were also told that we would get a certain truck to come out to our house day of pick up and a whole different truck showed up as well. Day of drop off at our new home, many things were damaged. Three pieces of furniture, including our 72" flat screen and sectional couch. Many boxed were damaged and bashed in, one including many of our platters we just got for our wedding which were all broken. Even though I watched the movers drop boxes and take boxes off the truck that were CLEARLY labeled with arrows facing up and the word FRAGILE all over they were still packed in upside down and like I had said came off the truck damaged. We did most of the packing ourselves we were screwed because apparently at that point we are responsible for everything, damaged or not damaged. I would not recommend this company to anyone for many many reasons and they made moving cross country a miserable experience for me and my family. We are still so upset about everything that happened, especially about the Burberry watch that was stolen by one of the thieves that they hired to move us. It was a gift I bought my husband for our wedding and it is truly sad that these people came into our home and disrespected us like that, especially after I treated them so well and bought them breakfast and lunch and tipped them at the end quite well. Beware if you use Blue Line Van Line....your stuff will be damaged and please hide anything of value in your house while the movers are there to avoid it being stolen. There are plenty of other companies to use...wish I would have chosen differently!
