I have never felt so scammed by a company ! I do not want anyone to have to endure the trama that My family has suffered at the hands of AVAILABLE MOVERS. I am a devout Christian and I consider my self an honest person so you can believe this review!
I contacted available movers to move my father ( a veteran) from New York to virginia.. We sold nearly all of the furniture and appliances.. So we were only moving boxes etc.. We were given a quote of $1500 .. They arrived at my Fathers home and loaded the truck and departed. We were told that all items would be delivered within 5 days. Two days later we were contacted by Available movers and we were told that they would not make my fathers delivery until we paid an additional $2400!! WE DID NOT HAVE $2400 in cash and available movers held my fathers shipment for 36 days until we could raise the $2400 in cash!!! This event was so traumatic to my Father that he called Veterens affairs for help. It is bad enough that Available Movers scam innocent people but it is absolutely despicable that they did this to a decorated veteren! Veterans affairs was so appalled by this that they have contacted the necessary authorities in order to shut this company down
