Apartment-Movers

I needed to move my apartment within the same zip code. I contacted the Apartment movers and spent almost 45 minutes on the phone detailing each item and got a quote for $450. And since this was not my first move image sure to ask whether this is the final quote or whether additional things will come up such as wrapping the furniture, being on an upper floor, distance from apartment to truck, the cost of gas etc.. I was assured that this is a final cost including everything for a 2 men move.
The first sign of trouble came when they did not show up on time, however they kept telling me that they will be there that day. After multiple calls letting me know that they were going to be late I got a call at 9 pm as king whether I still wanted to move. Sine I took the day off I said yes I am ready and waiting and the answer came that his men are tired but could start moving me the next day early in the morning. Another day off work, they sow up at 11 am, one guy is a 4 feet 10 inch tall skin and bone guy who kept complaining about how he could have slept late that day if he did not have to come to work and the other guy was slightly taller covered with tattoos from head to toe (the same guy that kept calling to apologize and ask to delay the move).
He comes up to the apartment and starts going through the inventory. When he realizes that I moved 10 boxes on my own the night before and sold one bedroom, a sofa and two table to a family I found on craiglist, he would not change the price of the move and instead said that he was able to remove the $25 dollar gas charge as well as the $90 extra charge for the distance from the apartment to the truck.
When I said this was not the deal and that I need to talk to a supervisor he replied that he was the supervisor and that the price of the move changed to $570 and was very insolent cursing and yelling. He would not even give me the number of his supervisor and instead gave me a number that was out of service. Eventually when I asked him to leave and that I would find someone else to do the move, he calls his supervisor and starts telling him how he would not go back on his word even i the had to leave his job!
When I pressed him to speak to the supervisor it got even better. The city supervisor called Pete was a piece of work who must have "graduated with honor from the customer satisfaction school!". His only response was ok over and over again. Eventually I realized that Pete is part of the gang and trying to make an extra buck himself. I sent them away and decided to contact some upper supervisor. I contacted the company several times and after multiple promises that someone would contact me back I gave up.
You're better off moving on your own, it would be easier, less painful and certainly less taxing to your wallet and nerves!
