We hired The Apt Movers to move from a second-story 2BR apartment to a one-story house about five miles apart. I was impressed with the professionalism and efficiency of the first-line contact I made, Jason Brigando, and finished the estimate and making the appoinrtment in about 20 minutes. A little later, my fiance forwarded some negative reviews to me about Apartment Movers (including some from this site, moverreviews.com), and I was concerned enough to contact Jason about it. He answered with some positive reviews, as well as their BBB rating and length of time in business. It's possible that these negative reviews were part of a smear campaign. Anyway, I was sold enough by his explanation and from a follow-up call from his boss to keep the appointment.
Moving day arrived, and the two movers, Orlando and Cid, were fantastic. They understood how to move everything, were very careful and worked steadily. They dismantled and reassembled a bunkbed set; unconnected and reconnected the washer/dryer; removed/remounted some doors for easy access; and generally with their good humor turned the move into a positive experience.
Now I know there are a lot of variables in a move, and the movers don't always have control over what time they will show up, and a 2BR apartment doesn't always fit into one truck. But this was a great experience, and I strongly recommend The Apt Movers.
