Before I go into details, PLEASE, do yourselves all a huge favor and do not hire America's Moving Services to handle/coordinate your move. Trust me, it will potentially save you lots of unneccesary stress and hastle in your life.
We (unfortunately) hired America's Moving Services to move us from Atlanta, GA to Dallas, TX back on July 24th. When the trucks arrived, we soon discovered that all of our nice furniture items had been packed in plastic......yes plastic. They state that their carriers (Two Men and a Truck in this case) all use/pack furniture items with blankets. So, almost every single item had dents, scratches, and even some broken off pieces. It looked like the items had been intentionally thrown around.
After the move, we tried to work with both the carrier and America's Moving Services to resolve and compensate us for the damage. America's Moving Services was unwilling to do anything and the owner actually had the nerve to say the damage didn't look significant and didn't warrant much (if any) compensation. They told me they would arrive at a "fair" weight of my items and then reimburse me based on $.60/lb. Again, I could already tell after speaking with them that they were going to "lowball" the amount based on their comments to me. I reported them to the Better Business Bureau and they were still unwilling to provide a fair settlement. So, needless to say, the case is now in arbitration (against their carrier).
If you have the unfortune of having a bad move with these guys, be assured that they will do nothing to make things "right" and rectify the situation. These are not the kinds of people that need to be in the service industry.
Again, please do your homework, and steer clear of America's Moving Services and all of their unprofessional carriers.
To America's Moving Services: No response necessary from you guys, I have already heard your negative, ridiculous feedback/comments. You had your chance to do the "right" thing, and you chose not to.
