Stressful move; would not use again

Moving across the country is stressful, period. I hired America's Moving Services to alleviate that stress and they greatly exacerbated it. The moving company they contracted with (Avalon Van Lines) arrived at 8:30 PM on the day I had to be out of my apartment. I hadn't received any communication from either company and had to call repeatedly to make sure someone was actually coming. The moving company didn't get the moving order until Sunday (I moved on Monday). While I do have quite a few complaints about Avalon, I realize that America's Moving Services and Avalon are two different companies. However, America's Moving Services contracted Avalon so they are ultimately responsible for their contractors. To make a long story short, Avalon was unprofessional (asking to use my shower), not careful (I have loads of broken items), dishonest (they said they were only responsible for the front of furniture and said they wouldn't carry items upstairs even though I'd paid extra for such a service). When I called America's Moving Services I spoke to Eric. He was initially sympathetic and helpful but after numerous attempts to reach him to work out a resolution, he fell of the map. He assured me that he would get weight receipts because that's how his company does things...and he never did. I felt like once they had my business, that was all they cared about.
In short, I would not deal with America's Moving Services again. My move was disorganized and the lack of customer service has left me dissatisfied and fuming.
