The most horrific experience in my life

As the subject suggests this was a horrible experience. Here's why:
1.) they failed to call or pickup on the date they were scheduled to
2.) the driver called me at 11pm on Thursday Nov. 5 to inform me he was 90 mins away... I was out of town becuase I communicated that I did not want to take delivery till Nov. 7.
3.) Nov. 5 I called and explained i was out of town and wasn't scheduled to take delivery until Nov. 7 which they acknowledged. However, they said there was nothing they could do and that I would have to take delivery that day or there woudl be an additional $750 late delivery charge. I told them I would fly home and take delivery to which they responded that will be too late.
4.) The General Manager said..."Go F%#k yourself; I'm going to keep your shit" after I explained that this was clearly their mistake and I should not be liable for the extra charge.
5.) They would not take a credit card for the final payment which is policy but given they screwed up the delivery date and I was trying to handle remotely... they should have been a lot more flexible.
Luckily, my sister lives in the area so I was able to transfer money and she was able to take delivery so disaster was averted. My only question is...What would have happened if I didn't have anybody to help?????
